Laser bias
current-major high
alarm
Red An excessive amount of bias current is being
supplied to the laser to try and maintain the proper
output level. Cycle the optical power using the SDU,
network management system, or local access port. If
an alarm still exists, contact the TRC.
Laser bias
current-major low
alarm
Red Using the SDU, network management system, or
local access port, verify that the optical output power
control is turned ON and the optical power is within
specification. If out of specification, cycle the optical
power. If an alarm still exists, contact the TRC.
Laser
temperature-major
high alarm
Red The laser is not being properly cooled by the TEC.
Using the SDU, network management system, or
local access port, verify if a TEC current alarm is
present. If present, confirm that the ambient
temperature is within the operating specification. If
possible, reduce the ambient temperature. If a TEC
current alarm is not present contact the TRC.
Laser
temperature-major
low alarm
Red The laser diode is not being properly heated by the
TEC. Using the SDU, network management system, or
local access port, verify if a TEC current alarm is
present. If present, confirm that the ambient
temperature is within the operating specification. If
possible, increase the ambient temperature. If a TEC
current alarm is not present, contact the TRC.
Cooler current (TEC
or +3.7V
current)-major high
alarm
Red The ambient operating temperature is too high, there
is a potential 3.7 V line problem, or a TEC circuitry
problem. Using the SDU, network management
system, or local access port, verify that the 3.7 V
output from the GX2-PS* is within specification.
Contact the TRC.
Cooler current (TEC
or +3.7V
current)--major low
alarm
Red The ambient operating temperature is too high, there
is a potential 3.7 V line problem, or a TEC circuitry
problem. Using the SDU, network management
system, or local access port, verify that the 3.7 V
output from the GX2-PS* is within specification.
Contact the TRC.
+5 V fan current-
major low alarm
Red Potential problem with the fans or fan circuitry. If the
ambient temperature is greater than +40ºC, verify
that both fans are functioning. Contact the TRC.
+5 V fan current-
minor low alarm
Yellow Potential problem with the fans or fan circuitry. If the
ambient temperature is greater than +40ºC, verify
that both fans are functioning. Contact the TRC.
+5 V fan current-
minor high alarm
Yellow Potential problem with the fans or fan circuitry. The
failure may be a locked rotor on the fan. Ensure that
the fans are free from dirt or debris. If the ambient
temperature is greater than +40ºC, verify that both
fans are functioning. Contact the TRC.
