The Microprocessor

As stated above, the microprocessor (or CPU) contained within the microcontroller is the

HCS12. All operations performed by the microcontroller are done so through the CPU.

This could include anything from a simple arithmetic operation to transferring data into

memory. Since the CPU will be running the show, it is the instruction set and internal

structure of the HCS12 that you will need to become familiar with.
